 NOVICE – KINDERGARTEN

LISTENING COMPREHENSION

I can understand when someone asking my name, age, and grade level.
I can understand questions about daily routine such as when I have breakfast, when I go to school, what time I have lunch, etc.
I can understand questions relevant to the days of the week and weather conditions, such as cold, hot, rainy, sunny, etc.
I can understand body parts in a read-aloud or as part of a game.
I can identify different fruits and vegetables when I see their pictures or I hear their names.
I can identify different animals when I hear their names or see their pictures.
I can identify classroom items such as paper, pencils, books, etc., when I hear their names, see them or their pictures.
I can identify parts of a house when I hear their names or see their pictures.
I can follow direction such as on the right, on the left, straight, etc., to find classroom supplies or different objects.
I can understand simple commands such as, where is …, Go to…, Let’s go…
I can recognize words beginning with the same sound
I can recognize different items of clothing, such as pants, dresses, shoes, hats, boots, gloves, etc.
I can identify the opposite of selected words we have learned.

 

INTERPERSONAL SPEAKING

I can engage in simple greetings and answer questions about my name, age and grade level. 
I can answer questions about my siblings, my pets and my hobbies.
I can answer questions about my family members.
I can answer questions about fruits and vegetables I like and dislike.
I can answer questions about animals I like and dislike.
I can answer questions about the seasons and weather conditions.
I can ask and answer questions about sports I play.
I can answer questions about my daily routines, e.g., what time I get up in the morning, what time I go to bed, what time I go to school, what time I have breakfast, etc.
I can answer questions about my favorite food.
I can answer questions about selected items of clothing, their color, shape, etc.

 

PRESENTATIONAL SPEAKING

I can describe physical characteristics of imaginary characters and/or characters in a story, such as short, tall, young, old, etc.  
I can describe character traits of imaginary characters and/or characters in a story,  such as nice, happy, sad, angry, etc.
I can describe shapes of different objects, such as ball is round, whiteboard is rectangular, desk is square, etc.
I can describe different seasons such as, summer is hot, winter is cold, fall is windy, etc.
I can indicate tastes of different fruits and/or food items, such as sweet, sour, salty, etc.
I can indicate days of the week and weather conditions.
I can ask to go to the fountain, to the toilette, etc.
I can talk about my favorite pet.
I can describe what my pet looks like.
I can describe shape and color of selected items of clothing, such as the pants are white, the gloves are red, etc.
