Coming from a multicultural background, I attended a French immersion school and was a student at ICEC for seven years, while also participating in the Persian Dance Troupe before becoming one of the dance teachers in 2010. I spent four years choreographing and teaching dance alongside my close friends, having the opportunity to immerse myself further into the community of passionate, intelligent, and thoughtful people who devote much of their time to appreciating a shared culture.

Aside from learning to read and write fluently in Farsi and learning about the cultural history of Iran, I have made lasting friendships throughout my time at ICEC. My knowledge of the Farsi language has been useful in many ways, from helping me to communicate better with my Farsi-speaking family and friends to giving me the skills necessary to spend several semesters translating Farsi transcripts to English for a project during my time at the University of Maryland. In addition, my experience of attending class at ICEC every Saturday for so many years instilled in me the habit of working hard, while also teaching me to look forward to the joys of seeing my hard work pay off in the end.

I earned a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2013. I love to travel, write, play various musical instruments, and paint. I am currently a brain trainer at LearningRx, working with students to improve their cognitive skills. I volunteer at various healthcare and research organizations and plan to continue my post-baccalaureate education in the near future.
