2021-2022 Iran Arbabi Scholarship Recipient

Sam Rahbin is a freshman at the University of Maryland majoring in neuroscience as a part of the Global Public Health Scholars program. Growing up as a young Iranian American, Sam has always enjoyed learning about different cultures and practicing Iranian customs with his family and friends. Sam attended the ICEC Farsi School from 2010 to 2019. He eventually became a teacher’s assistant and helped engage other young Iranian Americans in the community. Sam’s involvement in the Iranian community, and ICEC specifically, has taught him the value of keeping an open mind, a broader cultural appreciation, and the universal respect one must hold for all human beings. Sam enjoys playing basketball, running, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends, including the special friends that he made throughout the years at ICEC.
