The Iran Arbabi Scholarship Program, established in 2014, continued its annual scholarship awards for the academic year 2024-2025.  It is a great pleasure to announce that the Scholarship Committee has decided to award this year’s scholarship award of $1,500 to Ms. Shirin Ghorbani.  Shirin will be attending Cornell University, School of Applied Economics and Management in the 2024 Fall semester. This scholarship will be awarded to Shirin on account of her outstanding academic achievements, her great involvement in community work and her contributions to ICEC’s educational and cultural activities.

In her acceptance note to ICEC Shirin wrote: “…This scholarship provides me with the opportunity to spend more of my time doing things I am passionate about such as additional volunteerism, internships, and taking part in environmental and sustainability fellowships offered by Cornell… ICEC gave me the opportunity to broaden my involvement in the community by participating in plays, concerts, and Nowruz celebrations.  Through these events, I was able to share the beauty of my culture with my non-Iranian friends… ICEC gave me the confidence to be myself within the circle of my Iranian friends and beyond,…”
